Stephen Oakenfull

Chief Executive Officer

Stephen has over 20 years’ experience in real estate and corporate finance. Prior to the establishment of Brightbay Real Estate Partners, he was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of RDI REIT P.L.C. in 2020 after leading a strategic review of the business. He was instrumental in the growth and repositioning of RDI leading up to the acquisition by Starwood. Before joining Brightbay, Stephen worked for DTZ Corporate Finance raising capital for property developments and investments in the UK and Europe. Prior to DTZ, he worked for Turner & Townsend as a management consultant focused on infrastructure related projects.

Stephen is a CFA Charterholder and holds a BSc (Hons.) in Construction Management.

Adrian Horsburgh

Property Director

Adrian has over 35 years’ experience in the real estate sector.  Prior to the formation of Brightbay Real Estate Partners, he held the position of Property Director of RDI REIT P.L.C. with the role of deal origination and asset management of the portfolio.  Adrian has worked in real estate capital markets his entire career and was previously an equity partner at King Sturge & Co and subsequently an International Director at JLL.

Adrian is a Chartered Surveyor and also holds a Diploma in Accountancy.

Sarah Jones

Head of Asset Management

Sarah has 15 years of experience in real estate and has worked at Brightbay since July 2015.  Sarah specialises in creative hands-on asset management in a range of commercial real estate sectors.  Prior to joining Brightbay, Sarah was at ExxonMobil where she worked across EMEA looking at innovative solutions to the real estate needs of the company.  Sarah completed her graduate years at DTZ completing her qualification with experience in valuations and corporate recovery.

Sarah is a Chartered Surveyor with a PGdip in Real Estate from South Bank University.

George Jerram

Asset Management Director

George has 14 years of experience in the real estate sector and joined Brightbay in March 2024.  George specialises in asset and investment management, focusing on the industrial sector.  Prior to joining Brightbay, George was at Chancerygate where he worked as an asset management director working across all the portfolios held under management as well as sourcing new acquisitions.  Before that he worked for Square Metre Asset Management, a company best known as operating partner to Goldman Sachs in the successful acquisition, management, and disposal of over £1bn of UK commercial real estate between 2013 and 2019

George is a Chartered Surveyor with a BSc from Oxford Brookes University.

Louis Ward

Finance Director

Louis has over 15 years’ experience in real estate and infrastructure businesses. Before joining Brightbay in February 2021 as Group Financial Controller, he worked for Martin’s Properties, a family office real estate investment and development business, where he was responsible for delivering the restructuring of the Group’s companies. Prior to Martin’s Properties, he worked for Colas Rail, a subsidiary of Bouygues Group, where he was Financial Controller for the UK and Central Europe. Louis qualified as an accountant in KPMG’s Property and Infrastructure department.

 

Louis is a Chartered Accountant and holds a BA (Hons) in Modern Languages.

Mary Hedges

Head of Management Reporting

Mary joined Brightbay in February 2015 as part of the Group Reporting team, before transferring to lead the Management Reporting team in October 2017. Mary completed her accounting training with PWC Dublin in the Banking and Capital Markets department of the Audit and Assurance practice.

 

Mary is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and holds a MSc (Hons.) in Accounting from Dublin City University.

Sarah has held various roles spanning financial and management reporting, tax, internal audit and transactions. Her current role includes financial planning and analysis across the operational and commercial aspects of the business.  Before joining Brightbay in 2008, she worked in finance and management within the retail sector.  Sarah has extensive experience in management reporting, business partnering and business process improvements.

 

Sarah is a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA), Taxation Technician (ATT) and holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Mathematics and Accounting and Financial Management.

Sarah has held various roles spanning financial and management reporting, tax, internal audit and transactions. Matthew Parrott

Non-executive Director

Matthew Parrott is a Managing Director in Acquisitions at Starwood Capital Group. In this role, Mr. Parrott is responsible for Starwood’s investment activity in the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe and has been responsible for direct real estate investments, corporate acquisitions and public company situations across the region. Prior to joining Starwood Capital Group in 2018, Mr. Parrott was a Principal at CBRE Global Investment Partners’ European indirect investment strategy and started his career at Deloitte. Mr. Parrott received a B.A. degree in Business Economics from the University of Exeter.

Thomas Tolley

Non-executive Director

Thomas Tolley is a Managing Director and European General Counsel at Starwood Capital Group. Mr. Tolley is actively involved in all aspects of the Firm’s European business, including acquisitions, financing (both on the lending and borrowing side) and asset management having represented Starwood’s legal interests since 2012. Mr. Tolley has an M.A. from Oxford University and is a registered solicitor in England & Wales. Mr. Tolley was previously a Director at Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (formerly Hypo Real Estate Bank AG) working across the bank’s European real estate lending activities having joined them from international law firm Allen & Overy LLP.

Nicholas Chadwick

Non-executive Director

Nicholas Chadwick is a Managing Director and Head of Asset Management, Europe at Starwood Capital Group.  He is based in Starwood Capital’s London office where he asset manages Starwood’s European equity investments.  In this role, Mr Chadwick oversees and drives the investment strategy for a wide range of investments across all asset classes.  Prior to his current role, he led the asset management of Starwood Capital’s European hotel portfolio where he worked on the operational turn-around, redevelopment, rebranding, refinancing and disposition of a wide range of hotel real estate.

Prior to joining Starwood, Mr. Chadwick worked at Ernst & Young in the real estate audit department where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

Mr. Chadwick received a Bsc in Economics from the University of York and he is a former President of the Hospitality Asset Managers Association European Chapter Chapter.
