Social
Social considerations are closely linked to our ability to create long-term value.
This is particularly important for us as our assets directly shape how people live, work and engage with their communities.
Our approach
Across our investments, we prioritise health and wellbeing, accessibility, safety and inclusivity to keep assets attractive and functional over the long term.
It is important that we can develop productive relationships with our tenants, employees and local authorities and communities.
Active engagement with our stakeholders helps us build trust and strengthens relationships across employees, tenants and partners. Fostering collaboration and open communication with stakeholders often translates into lower vacancy rates, higher tenant retention and more resilient cash flows.
Some of our social activities include:
- Charity collections
- Weekly pop-ups showcasing local small businesses
- Community gardening and planting events
- Celebrating International Women’s Day
- A summer season of music and performances
Social in action
St Christopher’s Place: Driving local engagement
The Neighbourhood Card is a digital loyalty pass that encourages engagement across St Christopher’s Place, offering exclusive seasonal rewards while strengthening the neighbourhood identity. Fully digital and sustainable, it supports local businesses, rewards regular visitors and tenants, and helps build a connected, vibrant community.
Southbank Central: Connecting the community
Seasonal community events at Southbank Central help bring everything to life, from summer fêtes with cocktails, hotdogs and candyfloss to Halloween and Christmas celebrations. Curated by the estate, these moments encourage connection, support local occupiers and foster a strong sense of community.
VE Day: Honouring local heritage
Commemorating important historical events connects us with local memories and fosters community engagement. Initiatives have included welcoming serving members of the Armed Forces to collect money for the Poppy Appeal and a VE Day memorial, featuring a poppy installation, reflections and activities.
